AIAR PhD Student, Chris Zatarain named Carson Scholar!
Congratulations go out to AIAR PhD student Chris Zatarain for being named a Carson Scholar by the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR), an AIAR Partner Organization. He will be joining an interdisciplinary cohort of graduate students from across campus focused on developing skills related to the public communication of environmental research.
The Carson Scholars Graduate Program is dedicated to training the next generation of environmental researchers in the art of public communication. Throughout the scholarship year, Carson Scholars work closely with faculty mentors who provide hands-on training and other resources to develop skills and strategies to effectively convey the value of their research and enhance their skills in communicating science to a variety of audiences. The Scholars then put their training to work, completing a video, exhibit, public presentation, website, blog, or other communication project, by the end of the year.
