She completed her dissertation entitled, "Utilizing The Biophilic Theory To Improve Healthcare Experiences: Nature-Themed Artistic Interventions For At-Risk Populations" and graduated with her Ph.D. in 2022.
Currently, she is a Biophilic Art & Design Specialist.

In addition to founding a public art business, Dr. Thompson holds a Master's in Education, an MFA in sculpture from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Intercultural Art Research. Her art and groundbreaking research suggest that biophilic art and design™ is a viable cross-cultural strategy for integrating creative arts into the built environment. Dr. Thompson has published nationally recognized profiles on health-related stories, and her monumental artwork can be viewed on university campuses, public sites, and private collections nationwide
