Ashley Martin-Casler

Ashley Martin-Casler is a doctoral student in the Applied Intercultural Arts Research program in the College of Fine Arts. From Tucson, AZ by way of Cherry Hill, NJ, Ashley attended Spelman College, The University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University. Holding a B.M. in Music Education from UA, an M.M. in Vocal Performance, and a graduate certificate in Ethnic Studies from NAU, Ashley is interested in the intersections of music, culture, health and community wellness. She would like to explore how music can effect social change and positively impact societal health. Ashley taught in Tucson Unified School District for nine years as a music educator and arts integration specialist, and she worked as an academic advisor at NAU for five years. She enjoys reading, cooking, and being in nature.
