"When music and performance are foundational to your life experience, I believe they have a monumental impact on who you are as a person. I have been so inspired by the experiences people have shared with me about how participating in the arts impacted their understanding of their gender identity; I hope to use my research as a way to highlight those experiences and dig into what implications they may have on bettering our youth arts programs in the U.S."
